I came back to the UK for a week while my Mum had heart surgery (a valve repair). She had the five hour operation on Thursday afternoon, and it went according to plan. She's out of intensive care now too and in the high dependency unit, doing well - her first words when we saw her were 'Wow, I made it!'.
